Phil was raised in Convoy, Ohio as the youngest of three children in a single-parent family. Phil attended Taylor University Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he majored & excelled in several areas of expertise ranging from worship arts to leadership and management opportunities.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries and Youth Ministries from TUFW, Phil felt God’s prompting upon his life to follow his dream of furthering his calling & sharpening his skills in seminary. Immediately after college graduation in 2008, Phil enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary in the beautiful town of Wilmore, Kentucky where he began his Master of Divinity degree.
More than halfway through his first year of Divinity studies, Phil felt God’s calling upon his life to break from seminary and become the next Director of Student Ministries at Calvary Evangelical Church in his hometown of Van Wert, Ohio. For one year Phil served in that role, developing Element (26) Student Ministries’ with a grassroots approach.
In August of 2010, Phil accepted the position as Pastor Of Students at Faith Community Church and moved to Waupaca, Wisconsin with his high-school sweetheart Elizabeth.
Phil & his crew of leaders head up the Student Ministries’ Department here at Faith Community Church, which consists of The Grind (HS) and elevate (MS).
Phil is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary specializing in Pastoral Ministries.
Phil is most passionate about his wife Elizabeth, their families’ and everything to do with The Ohio State Buckeyes (GO BUCKS!) He greatly enjoys weight training, is an avid sports fan, loves the outdoors and is passionate about empowering students & leaders for exponential impact on today’s ever-changing student culture.
