Global Outreach DirectorSharon is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin. She attended Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, (now Cornerstone College), in Grand Rapids, Michigan, majoring in Bible.
Sharon has worked as a daycare teacher for 17 years, (she believes age 4 is the perfect age!) and as Production Manager at Classic Photography in Waupaca for 11 years. She joined the staff of Faith Community Church as Global Outreach Director in October, 2007. Sharon had been leading the Global Outreach Team at Faith as a volunteer for 9 years when she was asked to be on staff.
Global Missions has been a part of Sharon's life since childhood. Her parents had several friends who were missionaries in Lebanon, Germany, and Africa respectively, and she remembers her parents reading letters from them at the dinner table, praying for their needs, and inviting them to their home when they were in the States. As Global Outreach Director, it is her desire to see God instill in each member of our church, from the toddlers to those on Social Security, a burning desire to participate personally in bringing people from across the world into a relationship with the One who created them.
Sharon and her husband Bob celebrated their 35th anniversary last June. Bob currently serves as an Elder and Head of the Church Council at Faith. They have two bright and talented, (of course), adult children. Mark lives in Chicago along with his wife Elizabeth and Jenny lives in Neenah, WI.
Sharon loves to travel, read, bike, canoe, and hang out with her children. She and Bob also frequently celebrate their emopty nest status by eating out since cooking is definitely not on her list of favorite things!
